GOOD DESIGN AWARD
Good Design® Award was awarded for the first time in 1950, which makes it the oldest and the most prestigious program organized worldwide. It was founded by Edgar Kaufmann, Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames with an aim of recognizing the best industrial and graphic designers and manufactures for their contribution to the contemporary design. Over the last 70 years, the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design has been honouring the most innovative and cutting-edge projects. Innovation, form, materials, function, utility, energy efficiency and sensitivity to the environment are only some of the criteria the jury formed by distinguished professionals and industry specialists take into account when taking their decision. Simple yet precise design of the wooden bench Tonuki, designed by Katarzyna Dzięcioł, that brings nature into one’s doorstep did not remained unnoticed by the Jury, when they recognized it in 2019.
